Myrtle Beach July 4th Events You Won’t Want to Miss

With July 4th fast approaching you’ll want to know where the best are taking place as well as where the most awesome places to watch the fireworks are. For those staying oceanfront at Sandy Beach Oceanfront Resort, you’ll have the best seat in town right from your window!

Myrtle Beach knows how to have fun and hold a large assortment of of July 4th events for the holiday. Fireworks are available for purchase in South Carolina and many are setting them off up and down the coastline but be safe!

6 a.m.  4th of July Independence Day 5k and 8k, Market Common, Hackler St., Myrtle Beach, SC. Join this competitive run in Myrtle Beach to celebrate Independence Day. Race begins at 7:30 am. Registration for runners is from 6 a.m.- 7:20 a.m. at the start and finish line in Valor Park, Market Common.

2 p.m. Garden City Golf Cart Parade, Calhoun Dr. (behind Willards Fireworks), 717 15th Ave. S., Surfside Beach, SC 29575. Annual parade to celebrate Independence Day!

1 p.m. (Time is approximate) Special Event! Salute from the Shore on the 4thBe on the beach and watch the Shaw AFB F-16s from 20th Fighter Wing fly from Cherry Grove along the 60 miles of Myrtle Beach coast! See vintage WW2 aircraft! You can help support “Salute from the Shore” by doing these: Get a huge flag, Take video and pictures of your Salute! Share your videos, pictures and stories from the Salute at www.SaluteFromTheShore.org.

2 p.m. July 4th 7th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest, Croissants Bistro & Bakery, 3751 Robert Grissom Parkway Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Competition participants must be 18 years or older. The winner will be crowned, “Cupcake Champion” of Myrtle Beach. Prize packages include a trophy, medal, $500 cash and tickets to Myrtle Beach area attractions, restaurants and retail stores as well as an oceanfront vacation package, all valued close to $1500. Register online.

Boat Parade

4 p.m. Annual Boat Parade, Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, 4025 US 17, Business, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. This year’s parade will take place from 4-6 p.m. (time can change based on tides).  The parade winds from Garden City Point through the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk all the way down to Hot Fish Club. Compete for the best-decorated boat or watch from the shore and cheer on your favorites.

6 – 10 p.m. Join the town of Pawleys Island for the 51st annual Pawleys Island Golf Cart Parade. Participants use their imaginations to create “floats” from golf carts, convertibles or flat-bed trucks.Decorate your golf cart, car, boat, truck bed — anything that can be turned into a patriotic display for 4th of July. Register your float at Town Hall in Pawleys Island in advance or register the day of the parade. The cost to enter a float is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the parade.

6 – 10 p.m. Surfside Beach Celebration featuring live entertainment. Head out to the Surfside Beach Pier for music and fireworks. The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with musical entertainment by “Garth & Friends”. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. Concessions and 4th of July T-shirts will be available for sale.
