3 Events Happening in Myrtle Beach this October

If you have a fall trip to Myrtle Beach planned, October is a fun time to be here. The days are cooler, and the Grand Strand fills up with festivals the whole family can enjoy. When you stay with us in one of our Myrtle Beach vacation rentals, you are close to all the action. Here are three events to put on your list this year.

Brookgreen’s Annual Harvest Home Weekend

Brookgreen Gardens holds its Harvest Home Weekend on Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th, 2026. Hours this year are 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Families can build a scarecrow together using one of the kits on site, or bring clothes from home to dress it up. It costs $7 to take your scarecrow home. Pumpkins are also available to decorate. Small ones are $5, and the larger ones are $9. Please note that supplies can run low, so it helps to go earlier in the day.

Food trucks will be on the grounds, and the Brookgreen restaurants will be open. Doug & the Doc and the Sea-Cruz Band will be there with live music. Check the Brookgreen website for more admission details before you go.

BooFest! at Barefoot Landing

BooFest! at Barefoot Landing is a yearly stop for many of our guests to enjoy. This year, it happens on Saturday, October 24th from noon until 4:00 pm at Dockside Village by the Pepsi Stage.

BooFest! is a Halloween party for kids and pets to join in. Pack their costumes and plan to spend the afternoon at Barefoot Landing. The shops and restaurants at Barefoot Landing are right there if anyone in the family is hungry or you need a little shopping break.

Trick or Treat Time

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which is nice news for families on vacation. Barefoot Landing hosts Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 31st, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Shops and restaurants hand out treats to kids who are dressed up for Halloween. Everything is in one spot, so the little ones can walk from store to store without any driving in between. Be sure to bring a bag for the candy. You will also find other trick-or-treat events around the Grand Strand that night for the older ones.

There are plenty more to do in Myrtle Beach this October, but we wanted to share these three with you. If you haven’t booked your Myrtle Beach vacation rental for your fall trip, now is a good time to do it. We hope your family gets to enjoy some of these exciting events on your next vacation with us.
