One of the newest and most alluring additions to the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand is the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Open all year, this 1.2 mile long walkway, stretches from 14th Avenue North to the 2nd Avenue North Pier. Lined with restaurants, bars and shops, it has truly revitalized the heart of Myrtle Beach. The boardwalk itself is a raised wooden deck design and is roughly 8′ wide. Lots of careful planning went into the aesthetic of the Boardwalk. Natural palms and beach grass seedings can be found throughout the entire length of the walkway. A must see, the Boardwalk has been consistently ranked in the top 3 for boardwalks in the United States by several publications.
Fortunately, those vacationing at The Sandy Beach Oceanfront Resort, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is only 4 blocks north. With the Family Kingdom directly south of the resort, and the Boardwalk just a short walk away, the central location of this resort makes it the ideal vacation resort. During the summer months (May-September) you can find a free concert in the park known as “Hot Summer Nights.” Vacationers enjoy a scenic oceanfront walk without having to get their socks and shoes sandy as well as those with wheelchairs find it much easier to maneuver. With weekly fireworks off of the 2nd Avenue Pier, it’s easy to see why many people choose a hotel with such close proximity to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
