Seaside mini golf is not like any other mini golf you’ve
ever played at the beach. This is a game that your kids can play together and
enjoy themselves for the day. Head over to the local dollar store and pick up a
plastic set of clubs and balls while you are there for each child. Then you can
make your own small course up on the sand and use driftwood as the markers for each
hole. What a fun game to play even as a family and enjoy learning to become a
Hunt for Treasure
This is a fun activity that the whole family will enjoy
doing together. Take a sheet of paper, draw a map to the treasure and have a
bucket for the whole family. Then go out on the beach in the evening before the
sunsets, and hunt for treasure. The kids can look for a pink shell, rocks, seaweed,
something blue, etc. You can make the list on the map to show as many items or a

It’s hard to believe that July 4th will be here in just a few short days and that means that your family vacation will start too. Pawleys Island Parade
If you grew up in a small-town heading to a local 4th
of July Parade, then you will feel right at home in Pawleys Island. Here you
can sit back and watch the parade float by on homemade floats with decorations
that fit the 4th of July and even decorated golf carts. The parade
will start at 10:00 am and will run through noon. Don’t miss this fun event as you
celebrate the red, white, and blue!
Head over to Broadway at the Beach for the first 4th
of July Beach Ball Drop. This is a fun event for the whole family as they drop
over 2500 beach balls from above The Avenue at 5:00 pm. And while you are there
you can grab yourself a bite to eat before seeing the fireworks. Make this a
new tradition for your family to come to Broadway at the Beach and see all that
is new for the 4th of July!
Fireworks at Broadway at the Beach
If you are still at Broadway at the Beach, then you should
stay for the annual 4th of July Firework Extravaganza. Grab a seat after
your dinner to be sure you get the best seat in the house for the show. Sit back
and relax as you get to see the amazing display of fireworks this year at
Broadway at the Beach with your family. The firework display will begin at 10:00
pm, so be sure to get there early if you plan on coming just for the show to
grab yourself a parking spot.

This year’s Carolina Country Music Festival that is back for another amazing year that will bring more than 30 of the hottest country’s stars to Myrtle Beach. Starting on June 6th and ending on June 9th is where you and your family can come and enjoy some of the best singers in the industry. Alabama will be help kick off the festival this year on Thursday, June 6th and it’s a performance you don’t want to miss! Some of the other amazing acts will be Randy Houser, Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch and many more. What a great event that your family can attend and good news is tickets will be on sale until June 4th!
Art in the Gardens
Do you have someone in the family who loves art? If the answer is yes, then we highly suggest heading over to Brookgreen Gardens this weekend for the Brookgreen Art Festival. This year your family can enjoy seeing some local artists and their work including some demonstrations. This is a free event to all those who visit the gardens from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm with a valid admission. Don’t miss this fun event for the artists out there who are visiting the beach.
It’s Baseball Season
Baseball season is in which means that it’s time to take your family to see the Myrtle Beach Pelican’s play a few games. The Pelican’s will play many other teams such as the Wilmington Blue Rocks and many more while you are on vacation. Taking your family to a game can become a tradition that many families love to do as the tickets can cost as little as $9 per person. We can guarantee that you won’t get a bad seat in the whole stadium. If you have never been to a special event at Bass Pro Shops, you are missing out on some extra fun. On Saturday, April 20th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a fun family Easter event. When you first come into the Bass Pro Shops you will be able to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and receive a free photo. Your kids can do an Easter craft in the store and there will be an egg hunt in the store from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Registration for the egg hunt will begin at 1:30 pm. Don’t miss this fun event at Bass Pro Shops with the kids for a family fun day!
Easter Egg Hunt
Don’t miss the 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at
McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach is something for everyone to enjoy. Starting at
10:00 am the family can hunt for eggs throughout the park and it’s a free event
to join in. Those who want to participate in the egg hunt will be divided into
different age groups from infant and up. The Easter Bunny will be taking
pictures with everyone and will be handing out candy to all the kids. Bring
your camera to capture the moments that will happen at this event!
Let’s Go to the Fair – Easter Celebration
If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate Easter while on vacation, look no further. Come celebrate Easter at the Myrtle Beach Speedway for their 4th Annual Horry County Fair. They will be donating $1 from each pumpkin sold to go help with the hurricane and flood relief efforts in our community. The pumpkins available are small for $3, medium for $8, large for $10, extra-large for $12 and Specialty for $15. And there will be live music every Friday & Saturday night from 6 pm to 9 pm. Candy in the Corn Trick or Treat Trail
Come to Thompson Farms every Saturday beginning on October 13th through the 27th, your kids will want to enjoy this fun. Dress the kids up in their Halloween costumes and they will have a chance to wind through a special kid-sized corn maze to find their own treats. And if you think that is all the fun, your kids will get to meet Pippa the Pumpkin Princess, Will the Witch, the Chick-Fil-A Cow and many other fun characters. This will run from 1pm – 2 pm and is included in the general admission price of $13.50 for the kids and $15.50 for the adults!
Trick or Treat on Halloween
If you are vacationing during the week of Halloween, then you are coming for the fun. On Wednesday, October 31st you can go trick or treating at several locations. If you’d like to head to North Myrtle Beach, then try Barefoot Landing where you can get some treats while you shop. Beginning at 5 pm, you and your family are invited to visit shops and restaurants to go trick or treating ending at 7 pm. If you’d like to try another fun location we heard Broadway at the Beach has some fun for you and the kids to enjoy.

One of the most popular activities around here happens to be fishing. And of course, while staying in one of our 1-Bedroom vacation rentals, you will be close to 3 different fishing piers. We know that some of the most relaxing fishing can be done on one of the local piers. Below are our picks for a few Myrtle Beach fishing piers.
Cherry Grove Pier
Cherry Grove Pier is a wonderful pier to start fishing at if you have never done so before. Many visitors come to the quaint town of Cherry Grove, SC and was built in the 1950’s. This pier has been family owned since 1965 and many have considered this as an iconic landmark. If you are coming to try out fishing but don’t have any fishing gear, have no fear. Cherry Grove Pier will allow you to rent fishing rods and you can get your fishing license here too. It costs $24 all day to rent a rod with a $30 deposit on it. It will cost you $16 for after 3 pm. And if you don’t feel the need to fish, you can walk the pier for $3. If you bring your own rod then it will be $3 for admission and $7.50 for each rod. They also carry fishing bait and a full line tackle shop as well.
14th Avenue Pier
The 14th Avenue Pier has been around since the 1920’s. It is known to many locals as the historic pier and has the famous Pier 14 restaurant there. The restaurant has been known to many visitors as one of the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach. You can come and rent fishing poles again where it costs $8 plus a $20 refundable deposit. If you are looking to fish with your own gear, then it costs $7 for the fishing pass and $2 for an additional pole. Please note that they do have a pole limit per person so you can only use 2 poles per person. 14th Avenue Pier also has bait in their shop so you are able to grab squid, shrimp, mullet and finger mullet for your fishing trip. They are open from 7 am to 11 pm so don’t miss out on the fun!
Myrtle Beach State Park Pier
Myrtle Beach State Park Pier is one of the first state parks to open in South Carolina in 1936. If you are looking for a quiet pier setting in Myrtle Beach, then this is your place to fish at. Located just 3 miles south of Myrtle Beach on U.S. 17 you will find this amazing pier. No fishing license is required if you are fishing off the pier, but if you are surf or shore fishing you will have to get a license. The pier is open during the park hours from 6 am to 8 pm. You will have to get a pier pass which costs $5.00 per adult, $2.50 per child ages 6-15 and SC Residents 65 & older would be $3.25. If you need to rent a fishing rod you can rent them for $10 from the pier gift shop and there is a refundable $25 deposit with each rod rented.
While there are other fishing piers that you can visit in the Myrtle Beach area, we just thought these three are a good option for you.
